But I've got a question for any of you that write and read (basically everyone)!
Soo I've got this story.. And I can't tell what its about,
but basically there is a female main character, and a supporting male character that saves her life in the beginning..
He is super proud and is basically looking for the perfect "trophy wife". Seeing as she is pretty swell in his eyes, he makes her feel obligated to marry him since he saved her life.
My question is, what do you think is the best way to get rid of him?
I know it sounds weird, but see, I've got this /other/ character I want her to get together a few books later (yeah.. its a series).
And obviously I can't have my main getting married to a proud jerk
So, with that being said, I am not /changing/ him to be nice, I need a way to push him away from my main without her actually telling him to buzz off.
It is set in a dangerous place with plenty of horrible creatures to eat him, there are other women that could come and snatch him up, a government that could offer him a chance to help out with research or something, opportunities for him to (literally) take a bullet for her, a handsome stud that could tell him "she's mine", or even the fact that in the end of the book, she will have to leave the place they all live.
So my question is, as a reader of this book, or a writer yourself,
What would you most approve of?
